Christmas is almost here!!!

Well hello everyone! I haven't updated in a while.. Sorry! I have not had much time to get on here and write about my life!! I have been working A LOT lately and when I'm not working I'm being a wife. Ya know-cleaning, cooking, spending time with my husband! :)
I am so excited for Christmas, yet I have no clue what to get Pablo (Christmas is just 11 days away-AHH!!!) I know what I want to get him but I just don't know if I can do it! We shall see.. Santa might be really awesome this year!

I went to Santa's House twice this year! It is so awesome there! Santa lives in Canton, GA if you didn't know! He was on Channel 2 last week as one of North Georgia's Hidden Secrets! Here are a few pictures from Santa's!

I really can not believe Christmas is in 2 days! 2010 flew by! It was a great year though without a doubt! It still doesn't feel real that Pablo and I are MARRIED!! woah! We have been together for almost 9 years... (March 24th will be 9 years!) I love him! :) There hasn't been too much going on around here just thinking about Macho, Erika and Gabriel! They are currently in Oklahoma for Gabriel's radiation at a facility called ProCure. They will be there until about January 25th! Gabriel is doing well, responding to radiation and chemo well. He is such a happy baby. Erika sends me pictures of him often and it just makes me smile because everyone he is smiling or laughing! I just love that chunky little man.

Thanksgiving

We had a nice thanksgiving today. I had to work 9-12, which was not bad at all. It went by really fast!
Then we went to my grandma's house for Thanksgiving Lunch! We brought hashbrown casserole-yummy! And we had ham, turkey, green beans, Mac & cheese.. So much delicious food!
My grandma, mom and I went through all the sale ads and planned out our black Friday trip!! Now I'm laying on the couch resting because 2:00 AM is going to arrive quick!! :)

Thanksgiving!!

Pablo & I hosted out 3rd annual Friends Thanksgiving Dinner Saturday night! I made ham & hashbrown casserole and everyone else brought a dish! It was so much fun and the food was all delicious!! We had a great turn out- 13 people here!! I love having people over at our apartment especially at this time of the year! I'm DYING to decorate the apartment for Christmas but I refuse to put any Christmas decor out until after Thanksgiving! :) so this weekend our apartment will be a Winter Wonderland!
We are getting to celebrate Thanksgiving 3 times this year- yesterday, Thursday and Sunday! Waahoooo!!! I love all this holiday food-I think I need a gum membership because I love to eat too much! Haha!
Friday is one of my most favorite days of the year-BLACK FRIDAY!!!!! It has been a tradition in our family forever! It's so fun to wake up SUPER early and search for the deals & getting to spend time with mom, grandma & my cousins is an added bonus!!

5 days til Black Friday & 6 days til Christmas decorating! ;)

Gabriel update:

He is doing very well!! (YAY!) His counts are currently up and he is a happy baby! I have not been able to see him in person but Erika has been supplying me with lots of pictures of the lil chunky monkey! :) He starts another round of chemo on Monday and this is suppose to be a really rough round! So please keep him in your prayers as he continues on his journey! He's a strong little boy for sure but we just need to continue to pray and have positive thoughts to help him and his parents through this!

Sunday Pablo & I are having our parents over at our apartment for the first time for dinner! We are so excited to have them over to see our home! I'm so excited, I can't wait!

I feel official

Thursday I officially became Lura Sierra! Pablo and I got up had BBQ cups for breakfast (YUM!) then we headed down to Marietta to the Probate Court to get our Marriage Certificate. That was quick and easy. Then we went to the Social Security office, which I was dreading because i expected it to take forever! But to my pleasant surprise it only took 30 minutes and the lady at the window was really nice!! :) we went to the DMV where the "front desk" lady was not so nice.. But the guy that changed everything for me was really nice and had a very dry sense of humor (which I love). So that was fun! I got a new cute picture on my awesome paper drivers license. The best part-I didn't have to pay anything to update them!! Yay!!! It was a great day!

Now today,Sunday, I'm laying in my warm comfy bed not wanting to get up but I am hungry and can smell my coffee that just finished "brewing"! Have a great day everyone! Enjoy your extra hour!!!

Halloween!!

We had a great Halloween!
I started my day by going to church! It was the first time in like 2 months because of all the wedding stuff going on I haven't been able to go. It was nice to be back! The music was amazing this morning!!

I made some yummy cupcakes for Halloween at the Sierra's! My parents and brother went to Pablo's parents too! It was nice to have the whole family together. Except Macho & Erika didn't come. We really miss them & hope to see them soon!!

Atempting artsy

I love making stuff, painting stuff, taking pictures. I'm not really that great at any of it but I do enjoy it non the less. So I downloaded this fun app on my phone called hipstamatic it's a camera with different lenses and film. It's fun to take pictures of things and see how they turn out. Pumpkins!!!

Pablo & I had our 1st Annual Pumpkin Carving Party at the apartment tonight!! It was so fun! I made chili with all the fixings and it was a HUGE hit. There is NONE left! Which makes me happy that everyone loved it! Then we carved some pumpkins. This is something I have always done my whole life. My dad usually was the carver, I was the one the dig out the "guts". But this year I did everything for my own pumpkin, which was fun!! Here's my pumpkin



It's an owl in a tree! I think it's so cute! Pablo made one called Boneheads, it's really cool looking.



We enjoyed it so much we are going to do this every year!

Saturday night we went to Poe Down 2010 @ Poe Farms! It was not only their annual fall party it was also Mrs.Patricia Poe's 60th birthday!! She is such a wonderful lady so there is no way we could miss out on celebrating with her!! Here are some pictures from PoeDown 2010!

A little update on Gabriel:
He is back at the hospital to receive his chemo treatments. He started them Friday night. They got the results back from the PET scan and he has a tumor on his kidney and adrenal gland. After the 1st 6 weeks of chemo is over they will do surgery to remove the tumors. From what Erika has told me he is doing good. I can't wait to go down and see him!

Gabriel

Tomorrow is the start of a long 52 weeks for little Gabriel. He begins his treatment for his AT/RT. He and his parents are going to need lots of prayer. Prayers for strength, healthy, sanity, to get through this craziness. So please take some time to say a prayer for them as they begin this journey.

Cutest little monkey

This past weekend was wonderful! Friday night Pablo & I went to dinner and the movies with our friends. We saw Jackass, it was hilarious. Saturday my mom, JoBeth and I went to Gold Rush Days and it was so fun! There were TONS of people there but it was great! So many talented vendors there! I love going to North Georgia it's so pretty up there at this time of year. We also stopped and got some yummy apple bread and fried apple pies.yummy!!! Saturday night we had a birthday celebration for my wonderful friend Kristen! We went to Dave & Busters and had dinner and played games! It was lots of fun, kinda like we were little kids all over again! :) then Sunday came along and Pablo's parents, Pablo & I went to Macho & Erika's to see Gabriel! It was so good to see him! He was a little fussy but for the most part he was happy little Gabriel!! He goes back to the hospital this week to begin his treatment. Please keep him in your prayers as he begins this journey!!

Miss to Mrs.

Looking back at the previous blogs i sure did change my mind a lot!! Haha
Well It has been 11 days since I became Mrs. Pablo Sierra!! Our wedding day could NOT have been more perfect! The weather was fantastic, the bridesmaids looked stunning, the groomsmen looked handsome, my groom looked absolutely fabulous, the horse that brought me to the ceremony was precious, my dress was gorgeous, the photographer was great, the food, the cake & not to mention the WONDERFUL people at Poe Farms that's did everything and anything we needed!! Gosh it was a perfect day! :)
Now we are here in our apartment being married people.. And enjoying every minute of it! I love waking up next to my HUSBAND!!! (ahh so weird that I have one of those now! Haha) I really need to finish organizing the apartment so I can have the families over for dinner to show them our home! It's exciting to have a place that I can decorate how I want and plan everything out. It's so fun! Pablo is pretty easy going with me decorating, he's the best!!
Our 7 month old nephew, Gabriel, Pablo's brother's little boy is at CHOA-Scottish Rite. He has been diagnosed with AT/RT, which is a very aggressive brain tumor. So please pray for our little friend as he goes through the 52 weeks of treatment!! He is a strong boy and is doing great so far and I have no doubt he will continue to do fantastic!!! But prayers and positive thoughts are very helpful in this time for him and his strong parents (Macho & Erika)!
Well I guess I'll get back to my husband :)

*~*UPDATE!!*~*

WELL!!!
Some things have changed since the 1st post for sure! :) We officially have a venue now and it's not the one I posted about initially. We are having the wedding at Poe Farm in Dallas, GA! It's a beautiful farm with lots of land and the couple that own it are amazing! I am very excited to be able to use this location to hold our special day!

I went Friday to have Bridal portraits done by JPP (JasonPendleyPhotography)! Jason did a fabulous job! I wish I could post all the photos for everyone to see, but I don't want Pablo to see me in my gorgeous wedding dress before the BIG DAY! :) We won a FREE photo session with our photographer (Marlon Galviz Photography) we are going to get updated engagement pictures taken! I am really excited about having those done. We will wait til it is warmer outside to have him take those.

All in all everything is going well with the wedding planning. I can't believe the big day is less than 7 months away!! It seems like we JUST got engaged! I love it and can't wait to be Mrs. Pablo Sierra!

DRESS!!!

I FOUND MY DRESS!!! Last night I went to the dreaded David's Bridal to get one of my bridesmaids fitted for her dress. and we decided to browse around.. well while browsing I found a couple I liked and called my mom to come down there. Well.. I FOUND THE ONE!! :) It isnt really like the 1st one I had tried on/picked! But its perfect and beautiful!! I cant wait until October 2!!!

So we have a new location!! (YAY) It's Rose Lawn Museum in Cartersville, GA! Things fell through with the last venue but this one is going to be just wonderful! I am super excited!! My NEW wedding website is http://www.mywedding.com/pabloandlura I feel like things are falling into place nicely. I don't want to rush things too much. I know I have less than a year and I probably should hussle up-but I don't think I am behind by any means. I have my dress picked out, my girl's have their dresses, we have the location and photographer.

261 days....

I hardly ever get on here BUT since I just made a NEW wedding website and it has the option to link a blog to it, I decided to start posting mainly about the wedding planning!! I deleted the pictures of the dress I had tried on (because I think it's "the one") and I don't want pablo to see it!! So if you were lucky enough to see the dress,congrats! LOL I have some things already planned and decided on. First the venue-Bay Escape Events in Dallas, GA. It's a beautiful ranch/farm that a family friend owns and lives in. The house is GORGEOUS! The wedding will be in the back yard with a lake as the backdrop. The reception will also be at the same location, on large patio area beside the pool. the website for the venue is: bayescapeevents.com We have a photographer!! His name is Marlon Galviz and his work is amazing! I can not wait for him to photograph our BIG day!! Lastly my girls have their dresses!! I found some precious dresses at David's Bridal that I just lovedddd, and of course they were being discontinued so they girls had to get them quickly!! They just came in last week and are beautiful! They are tea length, strapless with a small "belt" with a rinestone clasp, in wine! I just can't wait til October!!! I am searching for the perfect Save the Dates and Invitations right now.. I have narrowed down my choices so I just have to finalize my decision within the next month so I can get them ordered to send out!
